Travel
through Drakenstein (dragon rock) en route. The town’s
name ‘French Corner’ refers to the 200 Huguenot
families who fled persecution in France to settle in this tranquil
valley in 1688. A multitude of art galleries, antique shops,
craft outlets, restaurants, museum and the Berry Farm is a delight
throughout the year. Come summer, the grape harvest heralds
the arrival of another memorable vintage.

Visit
Table Mountain via cable car, The Gardens (Tuine), a Scenic
drive on Signal Hill, SA Museum and leave in-time for the noon
‘shots’ in the Castle. Robben Island in Table Bay,
via ferry departing from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Once on the Island, board a bus for a tour around the Island.

Travel
via Mooiberge Strawberry Farm & Shop, over Sir Lowry’s
Pass, X’Plore scenic Hermanus (art galleries, jewellery
shops, pottery stores and craft markets). Lunch on water front
while watching whales or on an open deck restaurant, (on request:
take a boat-trip to see dolphins and whales from close-up while
enjoying a sundowner aboard). Join us on a hour hike through
the indegenous fynbos of the area.

Meet
local artist Pieter van der Westhuizen at his home-studio in
Philadelphia. View the old wheat Mill and old church. Drive
to Cape Town, along Sea Point Beach road, have lunch on a deck
overlooking the Atlantic. Visit and meet artist Elsa Verloren
van Themaat’s ‘house on the rocks’ in Llandudno.
Enjoy sundowners at a sea-front hotel before heading for home
past the V&A Waterfront.
